The Statesmen are led by first-year Will Patton who has collected eight first place finishes and two second place finishes in his rookie campaign. At the Mideast Conference Championships, Patton led Hobart to victory with a second-place finish in the giant slalom (1:57.63) and a win in the slalom (1:30.63). He earned the Mideast Conference Male Fastest Racer award given to the top racer in the conference and was also named to the Mideast Conference First Team.

Sophomore Ethan Hine and first-year Jake Labanowski have also made significant contributions this season for the Statesmen. Hine has tallied eight top 10 finishes this season, including a first-place finish in the giant slalom (1:55.63) at the Mideast Conference Championships. He was also named to the Mideast Conference First Team. Labanowski finished eighth in the giant slalom (2:00.29) at Bristol Mountain and will look to make waves at his first collegiate national championship.

ABOUT THE HERONS:

William Smith returns to the USCSA National Championships after finishing second at the Mideast Conference Championships. The Herons finished third in the giant slalom and second in the slalom on Bristol Mountain to punch their ticket to Mount Bachelor.

The Herons are led by senior Marjorie Plants' seven top five finishes this season. She finished fifth in the slalom (1:44.32) at the Mideast Conference Championships and has led William Smith in both the giant slalom and slalom all season. The last time Plants competed on the national stage, she led the Herons to a third-place finish at the 2023 USCSA National Championships, posting a fifth-place finish in the slalom.

Sophomore Emily Cain and junior Katherine Broderick have also been significant contributors for William Smith this season. Cain has tallied seven top 20 finishes, including a 17th place finish in the giant slalom (2:17.39) on Bristol Mountain. Broderick has chipped in three top five finishes this season, including a season-best third place finish in the slalom (1:43.01) at the Mideast Conference Championships. First-year Lily Winch shined for the Herons at the Mideast Conference Championships, finishing third overall with 56.66 points.
