William Smith junior midfielder Natalie Daniels was tabbed the USA Lacrosse Magazine's Women's Division III Player of the Week today.

Daniels led the Herons to a 17-5 victory over Liberty League rival Ithaca on, April 8. She matched her career-high recording seven points on six goals and an assist. Daniels' six goals spearheaded a 14-2 run that saw them turn a 3-3 game after the first quarter into a 12-goal margin at the final buzzer. She had a natural hat trick in the second half. Daniels also had 14 draw controls against the Bombers.

A starter in all nine games she's played this season, Daniels has 34 points on 27 goals and seven assists. She leads the Herons with 90 draw controls and is fourth in the nation averaging 10 draws per game.

Daniels enters the week with 305 career draw controls, 13 behind William Smith's record held by Maddie Montgomery '24. Last year, Daniels set William Smith's single-season draw control mark with 128.  In this year's season-opener against Geneseo, Daniels set the Herons' single-game record with 15 draw controls. In fact, Daniels holds the top five single-game marks in program history. Her 14 from last Wednesday is tied for second on the single-game list with her 14 from March 29 against Skidmore. Daniels had 13 draw controls in NCAA tournament wins over Gettysburg and MIT last season.

Daniels and the Herons (9-3, 6-0 Liberty) will be back in action tomorrow, April 16, when they head to Henrietta, New York, to take on RIT (9-4, 5-2). The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
