The 16th-ranked Hobart volleyball team will be back in action Saturday, April 5, as it welcomes Elmira to Geneva for its regular season finale. First serve between the Statesmen and the Soaring Eagles is set for noon in Bristol Gymnasium.
Prior to the action, there will be a brief ceremony honoring the Hobart volleyball Class of 2025 before its last home game in Bristol Gym.

PLAYOFF PICTURE:
- The top six seeds will compete in the 2025 United Volleyball Conference Championship this season. The top five teams have already clinched spots in the postseason tournament, with NYU securing the No. 1 spot and hosting rights.
- The sixth seed is still up for grabs and will be clinched by either Hobart or Elmira on Saturday. With a win over the Soaring Eagles, the Statesmen will clinch a playoff berth for the second straight season.
- The UVC Championships will take place April 11-13 in NYU's John A. Paulson Center in New York City.
ABOUT THE STATESMEN:
- Hobart is ranked No. 16 in this week's AVCA poll, marking the 12th straight week the Statesmen have been nationally ranked. Hobart also ranks No. 15 in this week's NPI rankings. NPI is the NCAA's new system for selecting at-large bids into the NCAA Tournament.
- The Statesmen enter the weekend with a 19-8 overall record (2-4 UVC) after securing their program-best 19th win with a sweep of MIT on Saturday.
- Graduate student Andrew Kim leads the UVC and is third in the nation in kills per set (4.55). Kim also leads the conference and is second in the country in points per set (5.38). He has tallied 40 service aces this season and ranks 16th nationally in service aces per set (0.55).
- Sophomores Noah DeLong and Daniel Sappia add 2.39 and 2.31 kills per set, respectively. The duo has combined for 48 blocks and 37 service aces this season.
- Graduate student Benjamin Lincoln and sophomore Zack Farren have led Hobart from the setter position, averaging 5.34 and 4.64 assists per set, respectively. Lincoln ranks seventh in the UVC in that category.
- Defensively, the Statesmen are led by sophomore libero Gavin Meador's league-leading 2.84 digs per set. He ranks 20th in the nation in that category. Kim chips in 2.21 digs per set, which ranks fourth in the conference.
- First-year duo Alain Malcolm and Kian Kischke have led Hobart at the net this season, combining for 91 blocks. Malcolm has tallied 62 blocks and ranks sixth in the conference in blocks per set (0.84), while Kischke adds 0.60 blocks per set out of the middle.
ABOUT THE SOARING EAGLES:
- Elmira enters the weekend with a 17-7 overall record and is 1-5 in UVC play. The Soaring Eagles are coming off a 3-0 loss to Nazareth on Wednesday.
- Offensively, Elmira is led by the duo of Jordan Peiser and Luke Jata. Peiser ranks third in the conference in kills per set (3.89) and points per set (4.71), while Jata ranks ninth in kills per set (2.69).
- Max Cohen leads the Soaring Eagles from the setter position, averaging a team-leading 8.96 assists per set. He ranks third in the conference in that category. Cohen also chips in 1.78 digs per set, which ranks 10th in the UVC.
- Paten Buckwalter and Dylan Vargas lead Elmira at the net and have combined for 61 blocks this season. Buckwalter averages 0.46 blocks per set, while Vargas averages 0.37.
