Statesmen win Bridgeman Invitational 8k

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y.— The Hobart cross country team cruised to its first victory of the season as it produced four top-10 finishers at FLCC's Bridgeman Invitational 8k this afternoon. The Statesmen finished first out of 13 teams at the invite.
 
Sophomore Duncan Kipkoech led the way for the Statesmen, finishing second out of 68 racers after stopping the clock at 29:45.2. He was one of two racers to clock in in under 30 minutes.
 
Sophomore Philip Dilgard-Clark finished close behind in fourth place after stopping the clock at 31:31.7 for Hobart. First-year Quinn Malachi made his collegiate debut this afternoon and finished seventh with a time of 32:31.1. Finishing right behind Malachi was senior Sean Moran who finished eighth after stopping the clock at 32:38.5.
 
Onondaga Community Colleges' Paul Clark was the events individual medalist after finishing the 8k race with a time of 28:43.7.

Hobart will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 20, when it travels to Rochester, New York, to compete at the Yellowjacket Invitational. Action will begin at 10 a.m. at Genesee Valley Park.
