Hobart hockey senior forward
Kahlil Fontana was named the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week this afternoon. This is the second time this season Fontana has been recognized by the conference.

Fontana led the Statesmen with five points in a pair of SUNYAC wins over the weekend. On Friday, he scored the game's first two goals as Hobart knocked off Cortland 5-2. The following afternoon, Fontana recorded three points, scoring a goal and dishing out two assists in a dominant 8-1 win over Morrisville.

Fontana, who has played in all 14 games this season, leads the SUNYAC with 12 goals and is tied for the league lead with his linemate
Arvega Hovsepyan with 21 points. Fontana is sixth in the nation in goals per game (0.86), eighth in points per game (1.50) and ninth in power-play goals (4). Fontana's next game will be the 100th of his career.

Hobart is 14-0-0 this season with a 7-0-0 mark in conference play and sits atop the SUNYAC standings with 14 points. The Statesmen, who are ranked first in the nation in the USCHO.com poll for the 39th consecutive poll, Â extended their NCAA Division III record home winning streak to 60 games on Saturday.

Hobart will begin a four-game road trip on Friday, Jan. 16, when it heads to Fredonia. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Statesmen will also take on Buffalo State (Jan. 17), Plattsburgh (Jan. 23) and Skidmore (Jan. 24) during the trip.
