The William Smith basketball team will close out the season with two conference matchups in Bristol Gym this weekend Feb. 20- 21. The Herons will host Vassar at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Bard at 2 p.m. the following day.
On Friday, the food truck Wraps on Wheels will be serving fans from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The food truck will be parked outside of Bristol Gym and will be offering one free item to students, faculty and staff with a valid OneCard. Â
Saturday's game will also serve as Senior Day for the Herons. William Smith is proud to honor its three seniors,
McKenzie Mandyck,
Ella Pysnack and
Carly Scott with a brief ceremony prior to the game.

ABOUT THE HERONS (3-20, 1-15 LL)
- Junior Giana Lobozzo leads the Herons in scoring, averaging 10.6 ppg, which ranks 14th in the Liberty League, and in rebounds, averaging 5.7 per game. She also ranks fourth in the league in steals, averaging 2.3 per game.
- Junior Amelia McCulley is ranked 15th in the league in scoring, averaging 10.1 ppg. McCulley ranks fifth in the conference with 1.1 blocks per game and currently sits third on the William Smith career records list with 88 blocked shots.
- Junior Ava Lobozzo ranks 25th in the Liberty League in steals, averaging 1.2 per game. Lobozzo was named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll last week after averaging 11.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, and 1.5 spg against St. Lawrence and Clarkson.
- As a team, the Herons are second in the conference in offensive rebounds (12.1 avg) and fourth in defensive rebounds (26.3 avg).
ABOUT THE BREWERS (10-13, 9-7 LL)
- Vassar is coming off a 56-45 loss to RIT on Saturday.
- Sierra McDermed leads the Brewers in scoring, averaging 13 ppg. Lindsey Shoulders follows with 11.8 ppg.
- Shoulders also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.7 rpg. McDermed follows with an average of 6.0 per game.
- Maureen Regan leads the team defensively, averaging 2.4 steals per game, while Elodie Ware averages a team-leading 1.1 blocks per game.
ABOUT THE RAPTORS (3-20, 1-15 LL)
- Last Saturday, Bard fell to Union 69-48. They will travel to Geneva after taking on RIT on Friday in Rochester.
- Shirley Dong leads the team in scoring, averaging 8.3 ppg. She is followed by Erin Tobes who averages 8.0.
- Lexi Miller grabs a team-leading 9.4 rpg. Tobes contributes 5.4 boards per game for the Raptors.
- Defensively, Dong leads the team with 1.9 steals per game.
SERIES SNAPSHOT
- Friday will be the 56th matchup between William Smith and Vassar. The Herons lead the series 37-18, including a 21-5 edge in Geneva.
- Earlier this season, the Herons fell to the Brewers 66-58 in Poughkeepsie. Junior Miranda Martin led William Smith with 11 points, seven rebounds, one steal and one assist.
- Saturday will be the 28th matchup between the Herons and the Raptors. William Smith leads the series 26-1, including a 13-0 advantage at home.
