The Hobart baseball team earned all three weekly awards from the Liberty League today. Junior first baseman
Sean Garvin was named the League's Performer of the Week, junior
Trevor Kimball was the Pitcher of the Week and first-year infielder
Jack O'Neil was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.

Hobart won two of three games at Franklin & Marshall over the weekend to improve to 6-1 on the season. The Statesmen dropped Game 1 on Saturday 3-0, but rebounded with a 12-0 victory in the night cap and won the series finale on Sunday 16-5.

For the weekend, Garvin posted a slash line of .455/.500/.818. He doubled, homered, drove in a team-high six runs and scored four times in Lancaster. Garvin is riding a 10-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in 15 straight games. In the first game of the series, Garvin singled and was hit by a pitch in four plate appearances. In Game 2, he doubled and homered, driving in two runs and scoring twice. He wrapped up the series with another two-hit game, driving in four runs and scoring twice.

Through seven games, Garvin is hitting .440 with 11 hits, two doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs and 10 runs scored.

Kimball earned his first win of the season, throwing six scoreless innings in Game 2 of the series against the Diplomats. He allowed just two hits and left the game with a 2-0 lead.

Kimball leads Hobart's starters with a 1.18 WHIP and is second with a 2.89 ERA. He's allowed just five hits in 9 1/3 innings this season.

O'Neil had three hits, drew three walks, and scored five runs at Franklin & Marshall. He has a hit in all six games he's played this season. In Game 1, he had one of Hobart's seven hits in the loss. In Game 2, O'Neil reached base in two of his five plate appearances, tripling and drawing a walk. He scored two of Hobart's 12 runs on the day. In Game 3, O'Neil walked twice and singled. He also stole three bases and scored three runs in the rout.

For the season, O'Neil is hitting .333 with seven hits, two doubles and a triple. He's tied for the team lead in walks (5) and leads the team with four stolen bases.

Hobart is scheduled to return to action with a three-game series at Tufts this weekend. The Statesmen and Jumbos will play a doubleheader Saturday, March 7 beginning at noon followed by a single game Sunday, March 8 at noon.
