The Hobart volleyball team will be back in action in Bristol Gym this weekend, hosting UVC matches against No. 8 New Paltz on Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. and No. 7 NYU on Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m.

ABOUT THE STATESMEN:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Hobart enters the week with a 12-11 overall record following a non-conference five-set win over No. 12 Lasell Saturday. The Statesmen are 4-1 in conference play. Hobart is receiving votes in this week's AVCA national poll.
- Junior Noah DeLong leads Hobart in points per set, averaging 2.91 and averages a team-leading 2.41 kills per set. DeLong ranks seventh in the UVC in hitting percentage, hitting .316 on the year.
- First-year Harry Fromberg earned his fourth UVC Rookie of the Week award after three strong performances last week. Fromberg averages 2.68 points per set and 2.34 kills per set.
- Junior Zack Farren leads the Statesmen from the setter position, averaging 4.73 assists per set. First-years Charlie Dugan and Tor Boughal follow close behind, averaging 4.58 and 3.60 assists per set, respectively.
- On the defensive end, Hobart is led by junior libero Gavin Meador's 2.05 digs per set, third in the conference. Junior Daniel Sappia adds 1.35 digs per set while sophomore Kian Kischke averages a team-leading 0.89 blocks per set, which ranks seventh in the UVC. Kischke also leads the league in service aces per set, averaging 0.51.
ABOUT THE HAWKS:
- New Paltz enters the weekend with a 20-5 overall record, including a 5-0 mark in conference play after defeating No. 7 NYU 3-1 on Wednesday.
- Offensively, Nikko Tenedorio leads the Hawks with 3.15 kills per set and 3.70 points per set. Michael Spiegel follows, averaging 2.67 kills per set and 3.07 points per set.
- Matt Marusza averages a team-leading 8.52 assists per set.
- Defensively, Daniel Shanley leads the team with 1.84 digs per set, while Peter Brutschin leads in blocking, averaging 0.82 per set.
SERIES HISTORY:
- This will be the fourth matchup between Hobart and New Paltz. The Hawks hold a 2-1 advantage in the series.
- On Jan. 24, New Paltz defeated Hobart 3-2 in a non-conference match in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Junior Aiden Kemora led the Statesmen with 17 kills, seven digs and three blocks.
ABOUT THE VIOLETS:
- NYU enters the weekend with a 15-5 overall record with a 2-2 mark in conference play.
- Offensively, Emerson Evans leads NYU, averaging 4.99 points per set and 4.33 kills per set. Charlie Clifford follows with 3.67 points per set and 3.19 kills per set.
- Devyn Nguyen averages a league-leading 10.35 assists per set.
- Defensively, the Violets are led by Bennet Tchaikovsky's 2.86 digs per set and Veer Agarwal's 0.91 blocks per set.

- This will be the third matchup between Hobart and NYU. The Violets hold a 2-0 advantage in the series.
