The William Smith tennis team will be back in action at Bristol Field House this weekend, March 28-29, with matches against Bard and No. 24 NYU. The Herons will host the Raptors on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by a matchup with the Violets Sunday at 10 a.m.
ABOUT THE HERONS:
- William Smith enters the weekend with a 4-4 overall record and 1-1 mark in Liberty League play after a 6-1 win over Ithaca on Wednesday.
- In singles play, junior Grace Magna and sophomore Mia Jacobs lead the Herons in dual matches. Magna holds a 5-2 record, primary playing in the No. 3 spot, while Jacobs is 5-3, primarily playing at No. 5.
- Kellersman is 3-5 at No. 1 singles, while Levine is 4-3 in the No. 2 spot. Levine is coming off a 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 win over Ithaca's Sabrina Cheung.
- Magna and Levine lead William Smith in doubles play posting a 5-3 record in the top spot.
- Kellersman and Walker are 5-2 in No. 2 doubles and are coming off a 6-1 win over Ithaca's Madeleine Sutro and Ava Casell-Lapetina.
ABOUT THE RAPTORS:
- Bard comes to Geneva with a 4-6 overall record, 0-2 in Liberty League play.
- Maria Castro leads the Raptors in singles with an 8-2 record at No. 1. Catherine Chapel adds a 6-3 record, including a 4-2 mark at No. 5.
- In doubles play, Castro and Paige Houghton have a team-leading 5-4 record in the No. 1 spot.
- Saturday marks the 12th meeting between William Smith and Bard. The Herons remain undefeated in the series, most recently earning a 7-0 victory on April 12, 2025.
ABOUT THE VIOLETS:
- No. 24 NYU enters the weekend with a 5-3 overall record and is coming off a 7-0 loss to John Hopkins on Saturday, March 14. NYU visits Rochester on Saturday before heading to Geneva.
- Visnja Gusavac leads the Violets in singles play with a 6-2 record, primarily playing in the No. 2 spot. Sophia Yang also adds a 6-2 record in dual matches, playing mainly at No. 3.
- In doubles play, Yang and Gusavac have a team-leading 5-3 record at the No. 1 spot, while Victoria Wang and Emma Kast are 5-2 at No. 2.
- Sunday marks the 17th meeting between William Smith and NYU. The Violets lead the series 12-4, including a 7-0 win last season.
