The William Smith rowing team moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week's Pocock/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association poll.
 
The Herons moved up one spot after sweeping then No. 10 Hamilton and No. 8 Ithaca at the Cayuga Duals over the weekend. William Smith's varsity eight beat the Bombers by 14 seconds and then beat Hamilton by 10 seconds. Lizzy Whitney, Linnea Darius, Kate Abdalla, Cheyenne Muldowney, Raya Schwartz, Leah Wiebe, Eden Grimm, Aubrey Ryan and Meghan Bartholomay were named the Liberty League Boat of the Week on Monday.
 
William Smith also cruised to victories over Ithaca and Hamilton in the second and third varsity eight races. It was the Herons' first sweep of the Bombers in over a decade.
 
William Smith will be back in action Saturday, April 4, when it heads back to Ithaca to take on the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology.  The Yellowjackets are receiving votes in this week's poll.
