Statesmen finish 8th at Tim Brown Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Hobart golf team continued its spring schedule as it traveled to the Tim Brown Invitational over the weekend. Three Statesmen finished in the top 25 at the two-day invitational, securing eighth place out of 17 teams.
 
First-year Troy Gregg led Hobart with a 17th-place finish in the 36-hole invitational at Ballston Spa Country Club. Gregg shot eight over par on day one. In Sunday's closing round, he shot two under par, finishing the invitational at +6.
 
Sophomore Robby Kurzer and first-year Aman Dhiman tied for 21st in the 96-golfer field. Kurzer carded rounds of 77 and 72, while Dhiman finished with rounds of 74 and 75. They both finished +7 on the weekend.
 
Junior Gavin Poyer grabbed 80th place after finishing +20 through two rounds of action. First-year Ben Bush rounded out the Statesmen squad with an 88th-place finish at +23 for the weekend.
 
New York University won the team title, finishing 16 over par as a team. Amherst was one stroke behind in second and was followed by Trinity and Skidmore at +19 to secure top three finishes. Williams (+23), Hamilton (+29), Bates (+31), and Hobart (+39) rounded out the top eight teams.
 
UP NEXT:
 
Hobart will be back in action April 24-26 when it travels to Verona, New York to compete in the Liberty League Championships. The three-day invitational will be held at Turning Stone's Shenendoah Golf Club.
