For the second straight week, William Smith's varsity eight was recognized as the Liberty League Boat of the Week by the conference office following a pair of victories on the Cayuga Inlet.
 
On Saturday, the Heron 1V, which was powered by Lizzy Whitney, Linnea Darius, Kate Abdalla, Cheyenne Muldowney, Eden Grim, Leah Wiebe, Alayna Wian, Aubrey Ryan and Meghan Bartholomay, notched a pair of head-to-head wins over Liberty League opponents. In the morning race, the Herons went head-to-head with the University of Rochester. William Smith's varsity eight powered down the 2,000-meter course, stopping the clock at 6:56.24, 15 seconds ahead of the Yellowjackets' crew. Rochester was receiving votes in the CRCA poll.  In the afternoon, the 1V went toe-to-toe with RIT. The Herons stopped the clock at 6:54.1, 20 seconds ahead of the Tigers.
 
The Herons, who are ranked eighth in the latest CRCA poll, will be back on the water on Sunday, April 12, when they head to Worcester, Massachusetts.  William Smith is slated to take on No. 7 Bates, Clark, No. 9 Hamilton, No. 3 Trinity, Pacific Lutheran, which is receiving votes, No. 5 Wellesley and WPI on Lake Quinsigamond.
