Three members of the Hobart volleyball team earned All-United Volleyball Conference recognition, the conference office announced today. Junior Noah DeLong was named to the UVC All-Conference First Team, while classmate Aiden Kemora and first-year Harry Fromberg earned honorable mention.

The Statesmen went 13-13 in the regular season, posting a program best 5-2 record in conference play to clinch the No. 4 seed in the UVC playoffs. Hobart will take on fifth-seeded Vassar in the quarterfinal round on Friday, April 10, at 5 p.m. in SUNY New Paltz's Hawk Center. The winner will advance to take on top-seeded New Paltz in the semifinals on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

DeLong earned a spot on the first team for the first time in his career after a dominant season that saw him rank among the conference's best in several categories. He is 14th in the UVC in hitting percentage (.287), 15th in kills per set (2.35) and 16th in points per set (2.84). Through 22 matches this season, DeLong has tallied 10+ kills 10 times, including a season-high 13 kills against Benedictine. He added a career-high eight blocks in a three-set win over Elmira. DeLong has done all of this while playing three rotations on the right side, while also setting in two rotations. Against conference opponents, DeLong was a steady force, averaging 2.32 kills per set, 0.82 assists per set, 0.82 digs per set, 0.89 blocks per set and 2.98 points per set.

The right side from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has been a key leader for the young Hobart squad this season. After studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea, in the fall, DeLong joined the team this spring and took over a captain role for Hobart. Through three seasons, DeLong has played in 76 matches, averaging 1.70 kills per set, 0.86 assists per set, 0.83 digs per set and 2.10 points per set.

Kemora earned his first career conference recognition after a breakout junior season. In 24 matches, Kemora averaged a career-high 2.22 kills per set, 1.09 digs per set and 2.61 points per set. He tallied 10+ kills in seven matches, including a career-high 18 kills twice in five-set wins over then No. 17 Vassar and No. 8 New Paltz. He also added a season-high eight digs against No. 7 NYU, helping him secure UVC Co-Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career. Kemora excelled in conference play, averaging 2.71 kills per set, 1.07 digs per set and 3.04 points per set against UVC opponents.

The six-rotation outside from Chicago, Illinois, has also been a leader for Hobart this season. His calm and steady presence has guided the Statesmen through several tough matches this season. Through 70 career matches, he has averaged 1.85 kills per set, 1.09 digs per set and 2.21 points per set.

Fromberg's standout rookie season saw him earn four UVC Rookie of the Week awards. In 22 matches, Fromberg averaged 2.32 kills per set, 0.62 digs per set, 0.44 blocks per set and 2.66 points per set. He ranks 18th in the conference in kills per set and has tallied 10+ kills in nine matches, including a career-high 18 kills (.394) in a five-set win over No. 12 Lasell. Fromberg also tallied a career-high 13 digs against Trine. Against UVC opponents, Fromberg averaged 2.59 kills per set, 0.53 digs per set, 0.59 blocks per set and 3.06 points per set.
