Hobart Rowing Head Coach Chris Kerber recently announced Tibor Teleki '26 will join his staff as an assistant coach.
 
"I'm excited to welcome Tibor to the Hobart rowing coaching staff," Kerber said. "His transition from student-athlete to coach comes at an exciting time for our program, and his firsthand understanding of our training environment, culture, and our competitive identity will be an invaluable asset as we continue to build momentum forward as a top 20 D1 rowing program."
 
A Dean's List student, Teleki graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in economics. He was a member of Hobart's varsity eight during his senior season. Rowing in the No. 2 seat, Teleki helped the Statesmen win the third level final at the Dad Vail Regatta. In the spring opener, the Statesmen beat Ithaca head-to-head, retaining the Statesmen Trophy. Teleki and the Hobart 1V also beat Georgetown in Virginia. In the fall at the Head of the Genesee, Teleki won a silver medal with the second varsity eight.
 
"Tibor's experience in the boat, combined with his thoughtful approach to training and his experience/passion for developing athletes, positions him to make a big impact when he arrives Geneva," Kerber added. "As both a student of the sport and an outstanding ambassador for HWS, he will help mentor our current student-athletes while carrying forward the standards and traditions that define our program. I'm thrilled to have Tibor begin his collegiate coaching career here at Hobart and look forward to the leadership, energy, and perspective he will bring to our team."
 
A four-year member of the rowing team, Teleki competed with Hobart's top three boats during his career. In his first two seasons, he won a bronze medal with the 3V8 at the National Invitational Rowing Championships. Teleki competed at the Head of the Charles twice, finishing 14th during his junior season.  
 
Teleki started his coaching career at the Potomac Boat Club in Maryland. He was also a finance intern for Team Seneca Navy, a group of Hobart rowing alums that competed and finished fourth in the World's Toughest Row.
 
Hobart is scheduled to begin its 2026-27 season on October 10 at the Head of the Gensee Regatta.
