Statesmen jump to #13 in United Soccer Coaches Poll

The Hobart soccer team climbed eight spots to No. 13 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll, as announced by the organization this afternoon.  
 
The Statesmen enter the week 8-1-0 on the year with a 2-1-0 mark in Liberty League play. It's the highest Hobart has been ranked this season. The Statesmen debuted at No. 14 in the first regular season poll and dropped to 21 last week.
 
Junior Brady Leitner leads the team with six goals and 12 points. He is 29th in the nation in goals and 39th in goals per game. Fellow junior Griffin Coutts is right behind him with 11 points on a goal and nine assists. Coutts is first in the nation in assists and assists per game (1.13). As a team, the Statesmen are 18th in assists (22) and 28th in the nation in assists per game (2.44).
 
Junior Jake Hans has played the majority of the minutes in goal for Hobart. He is 7-1-0 with a 0.88 GAA and an .816 save percentage. Hans has two shutouts.
 
The Statesmen will continue their four-game homestand this weekend when they welcome Clarkson and Cortland to Cozzens Field for a pair of games. The Red Dragons are ranked 22nd in this week's poll. Both games are set to begin at 2 p.m. and are a part of HWS' Homecoming and Family Weekend.
