GENEVA, N.Y.--The Hobart tennis team lost its season opener to Division II Mercyhurst 7-2 in the Bristol Field House today.

Senior James Micheroni (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) had a hand in both Statesmen points. He defeated Mijo Cotic 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 at second singles and teamed with sophomore Harry King (Concord & Carlisle/Concord, Mass.) to win 8-6 over Tim Hansson and Mike Aronson at first doubles.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Sept. 13, when they compete in the Flower City Tournament.
