William Smith College first-year
Lucy Johnson (Millburn/Short Hills, N.J.) was named the Liberty League Women's Lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Week, after leading the Heron offense in three games last week. This marks the second straight week she has won the award.
Johnson totaled 13 points on 10 goals and three assists for 16th-ranked William Smith. In a 12-9 loss at No. 17 Cortland on Wednesday, she recorded two assists. Johnson went on to net four goals in the Herons' 16-6 win at St. Lawrence on Friday, and notched six goals and a helper in a 19-8 win over Clarkson the next day. She also collected eight ground balls and nine draw controls on the week.
Johnson ranks second on the team in goals (21) and points (29). She also holds a share of fifth in the Liberty League in assists per game (1.00), and is 10th in the league in both goals (2.62) and points (3.62) per game.
William Smith will be back in action on April 10, when the Herons travel to sixth-ranked Hamilton for a Liberty League contest at 4 p.m.
