HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Hobart College tennis team swept doubles action to defeat Wooster 6-3 today and improve to 4-2 on the season. The Scots slip to 3-3 overall.
Sophomore
Matt Hursh and junior
Matt Chin paced the Statesmen. Hursh picked up a 7-6, 6-1 victory at second singles, while Chin posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6. The two also teamed up to prevail 8-4 at second doubles.
First-years
Alex James and
Bruce Grant joined forces at No. 1 doubles to defeat their Wooster opponents 8-3, while senior
Guillaume Etlin and sophomore
Kevin Bates paired up for the 8-4 victory at No. 3.
Etlin also earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at fourth singles.
Hobart will be back in action March 18, when the Statesmen take on Denison at noon.
