OSWEGO, N.Y. – First-year
Josh Kirkman finished tenth of 55 runners, and was the first Statesmen to cross the finish line at the 20th Annual Oswego State Invitational today. The Hobart cross country team finished second out of six teams.
Kirkman finished tenth of 55 runners, completing the 8-kilometer Don Masterson Race with a time of 29 minutes, 47.86 seconds. In 15th place was sophomore
Blake Taylor who finished in 30:56.84. Next to complete the course was first-year
Greg Mathieu with a time of 31:22.82 to claim 19th place. Right behind him were junior
Shaun Viguerie and senior
Evan Turner, who finished 20th and 21st, respectively.
Hobart finished with a total of 85 team points, 36 points ahead of third place finisher Alfred. Oswego State took first place with 15 points.
The Statesmen will next compete at their own annual Hobart Invitational at noon on Sept. 18.
