UTICA, N.Y. -- The Hobart College cross country team finished fifth of 10 teams at the SUNYIT Invitational on Saturday. First-year
Josh Kirkman led the Statesmen to the finish line, placing 17th in the 91-runner field.
Kirkman completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 21 minutes, 48.8 seconds. As a team, Hobart recorded 128 points. First-year
Nick Schmidt was the second Statesmen to finish. He placed 19th with a time of 21:55.1 in his first collegiate race.
Sophomore
Brit Claridge finished 27th in 22:25.6, and senior
Ross Hicks was next in 29th place with a time of 22:36.1. Sophomore
Alden Ruml was the fifth Statesmen to cross the finish in 36th place.
Hobart will return to action Sept. 11 at the Oswego State Invitational at noon.
