Hobart tennis edged by Colby 5-4

RESULTS

GENEVA, N.Y.—
The Hobart tennis team was edged 5-4 by Colby College in a non-league match played this afternoon at the HWS Tennis Center. The Statesmen are now 4-2 overall, and the Mules earned their first dual match victory of the fall season.

Hobart earned one point in doubles play. The pair of junior Sam DeLuccia and senior Matt Hursh came out on top of a close match at the No. 2 spot, earning a 9-8(7-2) victory.

In singles, junior Bruce Grant secured a 6-7 (7-4), 7-6(7-4), 9-11 win at the top spot. Hursh earned his second victory of the day with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 3. Junior Peter Cruice defeated his Colby opponent 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 6 spot.

The Statesmen have now completed their fall season.
