ROCHESTER, N.Y.—
The Hobart tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over host St. John Fisher this morning. The Statesmen improved to 3-1 this season, and the Cardinals dropped their fall opener.

Hobart started things off picking up all three doubles points. First, junior Alex James and junior Sam DeLuccia earned an 8-2 victory at the No. 2 spot. Junior Bruce Grant and first-year Michael Fields then secured an 8-1 victory at the top position. Senior Matt Hursh and senior Walter Green wrapped up doubles play with an 8-3 win at No. 3.

In singles, wins at Nos. 5, 2 and 3 secured the victory, and Hobart's wins at 1,4 and 6 clutched the sweep. Grant defeated St. John Fisher's John Whelehan 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. DeLuccia and James posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at Nos. 2 and 5, respectively. Hursh topped Greg Duffy 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3. At No. 4, Fields triumphed 6-0, 6-1 and Green registered a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.
