The Hobart College cross country team will compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship hosted by the University of Rochester on Saturday, Nov. 10. The men's race is scheduled for 11 a.m.
First-year
Patrick Hatheway has led the Statesmen across the finish line in all nine races so far this fall. Hatheway recorded his season-best 8-kilomter time of 27:12.3 with a 16th place finish at the Houghton Invitational. He's been tabbed the Liberty League Rookie of the Week twice this year.
Hobart will look to improve upon a 36th place finish from the 2011 regional championship.
Steve Manker '12 led the Statesmen last season, posting a new career-best 8k time. Sophomore
Ian Hatch was the second Hobart harrier to finish. He also logged a new career-best time.
The top two teams in each of the eight regions nationwide automatically qualify for the national championship, which will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 17. Eight additional teams receive at-large bids. Once team selections are made, the top seven individuals not on a qualifying team are added to the championship field.
