Box Score The William Smith College basketball team led Ithaca College with a minute remaining in the first half, but the Bombers scored six straight to take the lead into halftime and pulled away with a dominating second half for a 69-38 non-conference win in Ithaca, N.Y.

Sasha Borenstein gave the Herons (8-5) a 24-23 edge. Two free throws by Geena Brady put the Bombers back in front, but Borenstein again dialed long distance for a 27-25 William Smith lead with 1:14 to go in the half.
Ithaca reclaimed the lead for good with six unanswered points, taking a 31-27 lead into the locker room thanks to Brady's jumper with four seconds left.
Borenstein led all scorers at the break with nine points. Junior guard
Erin O'Brien had eight points in the opening 20 minutes. Both Herons were shut out in the second half.
Murphy opened the second half scoring to close the gap to just two, but the Bombers scored 18 of the game's next 20 points. Ally Mnich capped the blitz with a trey at the 10:27 mark that gave Ithaca a 49-31 lead.
The Herons managed just five field goals, three by Murphy, in the second half, scoring just 11 points. Ithaca won its seventh in a row, outscoring William Smith 18-1 in points off turnovers in the second half.
Brady led all scorers with 11 points and nine rebounds. Mnich, Shea, and JennEscobido each contributed 10 points for the Bombers. Ithaca shot 45.3 percent from the floor, including 4-of-10 from behind the arc.
Murphy led William Smith with 10 points and four rebounds. O'Brien also grabbed four boards and notched a team-high four assists.
The Herons will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 18, when they visit St. Lawrence. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
