Box Score The William Smith College basketball team scored the first 14 points of its Liberty League game at Clarkson University and never looked back. The Herons raced out to a 47-26 halftime lead and cruised to a 74-58 victory.

Molly Breen's layup touched off a mini-run of seven straight points by the visitors pushing William Smith's lead into double digits for good.

Sasha Borenstein capped the first half scoring with her fourth 3-pointer of the game, giving her a game-high 12 points at the break. William Smith carried a 47-26 lead into the break. The Herons shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half, converting 6-of-12 from beyond the arc, and limited Clarkson to 10-of-25 shooting.
Ashley Loggins made a layup and Snead made a trey to start the second half scoring and trim CU's deficit to 16, but the Herons countered with the next 10 points and maintained at least a 15-point cushion for the rest of the game. William Smith extended its winning streak against the Golden Knights to six games.
The Herons matched their season-high with nine 3-pointers. Borenstein led the way with six for a team-high 18 points. Hayter added 12 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard

Erin O'Brien recorded nine points, a game-high six assists and three steals. Murphy registered eight points and a team-high nine rebounds, helped William Smith to a 39-29 advantage on the glass.
Loggins gave Clarkson game-highs with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Snead scored 15 points, including four treys.
William Smith will be back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 22 when the Herons visit Union. Tipoff in Schenectady is scheduled for 6 p.m.
