Statesmen run in Geneseo Invitational

Results

Hobart College first-year Cal Randle led the Statesmen cross country team across the finish line at the Geneseo Invitational in Mt. Morris, N.Y., this afternoon. Hobart finished 18th out of 19 collegiate teams at the meet.

Randle completed the 8-kilometer course in 28:17.9 for 138th place out of 255 runners. It's the fourth race that Randle has been the top Statesmen finisher. Senior Wes Traub was next, taking 174th with a time of 29:06.4. Sophomore Patrick Hatheway registered a season-best 8k time of 29:28.2 to take 186th. First-year Jesse Schaffer crossed the finish line in 29:49.4 for 201st place. Senior Nick Schmidt also logged a season-best 8k time, completing the course in 29:58.7 to take 209th place.

Geneseo's Cohen Miles-Rath finished in first place in 25:15.6. The Knights also earned the team title with 34 points. Rochester took second with 112 and Vassar claimed third with 117 team points.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19, when they compete in the CCOC Championship at Seneca Lake State Park. The men's race is set to begin at noon.
