The William Smith College squash team will play in the 2013 College Squash Association Team Championships this weekend, Feb. 15-17, in New Haven, Conn. The Herons will compete for the Epps Cup.
There are 43 teams participating in six divisions. Matches will be played at Yale University's Brady Squash Center and at the Hopkins School.
The Herons bring an 8-7 record into the championships. They are ranked No. 26 in the most recent CSA rankings and are the No. 2 seed in the D Division. Boston College, St. Lawrence, Virginia, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Vassar and Northeastern will all be vying for the Epps Cup. William Smith will take on No. 31 Vassar in its first match on Friday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. The Herons topped the Brewers 6-3 back on Nov. 18, when the teams met in the 2012 Bard Round Robin.

Erin Casey lead the team with 10 victories apiece. Newman has played all 15 matches at the No. 1 spot, logging a 10-5 overall record. Casey has competed at Nos. 7-9. She logged a 4-3 mark at No. 7, added a win at No. 8 and went 5-1 at No. 9. Sophomore

Andrea Tran have each produced nine wins this season.
The Herons will take on either No. 27 St. Lawrence or No. 30 Georgetown in their second match on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Now in its 15th varsity season, William Smith is seeking its fourth CSA Cup, having captured the 2006 and 2007 Walker Cup and the 2009 Epps Cup.
