Box Score The No. 12 Hamilton College women's lacrosse team used a 9-0 run that spanned the closing seconds of the first half and the beginning of the second to post a 19-10 win over William Smith College tonight in a non-league game played in Syracuse, N.Y. The game which was originally scheduled to be played in Clinton, N.Y., was moved to the Carrier Dome due to cold temperatures and snow in the forecast.
It was the first game the Herons have ever played in the Carrier Dome. William Smith is now 1-3 overall, while the Continentals improve to 3-0. Hamilton is the third nationally ranked opponent the Herons have taken on this season.

Marina Guigli played the opening 41:10 in goal for the Herons and made seven saves. Classmate
Allie O'Hara came in for the final 18:50 and finished with three saves.
Margaret Gabriel recorded a team-high five points on four goals and an assist for Hamilton. Rachel Friedman notched three goals and an assist and won a game-high five draws. Ashleigh Stephan, Katie D'Antonio, and Sara Berthiaume each logged two goals and an assist for the Continentals. Lauren Brady and Kathryn Maiorano posted two goals apiece. Hannah Haskell picked up a team-high seven ground balls and caused two turnovers. Dewi Caswell played all 60 minutes in goal for Hamilton and tallied 10 saves.
Potter scored the first goal of the game at 3:15 after a feed from Sipple. Gabriel answered for Hamilton at 5:26, knotting the score at one. Just 19 seconds later, sophomore
Cat Gorman notched her first goal of the season for William Smith to make it 2-1. The Continentals then put together three straight goals to take a 4-2 lead. Hamilton would hold the upper hand for the remainder of the contest. At 23:39, Potter registered her second goal of the game, but tallies by Brady and Friedman stretched the Continentals' lead back to three. With 1:06 left in the half, Sipple found the back of the net, and first-year
Geneva Calder chipped in her third goal of the season just 52 seconds later to get the Herons back within one. However, with three seconds left before the break, Maiorano capitalized on a pass from Friedman to give Hamilton a 7-5 advantage at the break.
The Continentals opened the second half scoring eight straight goals to take a 15-5 lead 10:15 in. Gabriel notched two goals and an assist in the run. At 11:55, Sipple scored her seventh goal this year, but Madison Beres answered 13 seconds later for Hamilton. Goals by Connolly and Potter made it 16-8, but once again, the Continentals responded with two goals of their own. Potter and sophomore
Abbie West found the back of the net in the final six minutes, and Brady struck again for the Continentals with 38 seconds remaining for the final.
Hamilton held a 36-23 advantage in shots and a 22-20 edge in ground balls. The Continentals won 22 draws, while the Herons came away with eight. William Smith was successful on 13-of-18 clear attempts, while Hamilton went 14-for-18.
The Herons will be back in action on Tuesday, March 19, when they take on Springfield at 10 a.m. in their first game of their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla.
