Caroline Conboy and sophomore
Katie Storch each had a hand in three victories to lead the Herons swimming and diving team against the Rochester Institute of Technology swimming and diving team this evening. William Smith had strong swims across the board but was edged by the Tigers 124.5-116.5.

The Herons (6-2) started the meet fast with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Storch, Conboy, first-year
Nicole Katchis, and junior
Kelsey Bohl stopped the clock at 1:54.05, more than a second ahead of the RIT relay team. Storch's second win of the day came in the 200 freestyle. She outpaced the field by three seconds, touching the wall at 2:00.29. Storch also placed first in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall with a winning time of 1:03.12. Conboy's first individual win was in the 200 individual medley. She cruised to a seven second victory, clocking in at 2:14.67. Conboy also won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.27.

Kelley Mantz recorded the other victory for William Smith. She tied for first in the 100 free with the Tigers' Sarah Evans. Mantz also finished third in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore
Emily Haskins had a strong meet, turning in second place finishes in the 1000 and 500 freestyles and the 100 butterfly with personal best times. In the 200 IM, Katchis touched the wall in third place with a time of 2:21.92, two-tenths of a second behind the second place finisher.

Therese Mandracchia led the way for the Herons on the diving board. She finished second on both the one-meter board with a score of 213.30 and second on the three-meter board with a score of 184.25.Â

The Herons will be back in Bristol Pool on Saturday, Jan. 23, when they host Cazenovia and Wells in a double dual meet. The meet will be the last home meet for seniors
