4 Herons selected to Academic All-District Teams

Four members of the William Smith swimming and diving team were named to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Team selected by the College Sports Communicators. Sophomore Aurora Donta-Venman, junior Bria Romano and seniors Abby Hark and Hali Seidberg were this year's recipients.  
 
CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least one full calendar year at their current institution, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and participate in at least five competitions or finish top eight at a conference championship meet.

A history major, Donta-Venman earned a spot on the Academic All-District® team for the first time in her career. She also was named a Liberty League All-Academic for the first time earlier this season.

In the pool, Donta-Venman is a versatile swimmer, utilizing her talents in several events but specializing in the freestyle event. She combined for 13 top five finishes this season,highlighted by a season-best performance against Herkimer Community College as she finished first in the 500-yard freestyle and the 50-yard breaststroke. Most recently, Donta-Venman secured spots in the finals at the Liberty League Championships in the 1650 and 500 free events. She went on to finish 16th and 21st in those events at the conference championships.

A business management and writing & rhetoric major, Romano was named to the Academic All-District® team for the first time in her career after earning her second consecutive Liberty League All-Academic selection.

In the pool, Romano specializes in the sprint events, using her versatility to secure crucial points for the Herons. She recorded six top five finishes for William Smith this season, highlighted by a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke against Herkimer Community College. Romano also played a key role in several Heron relay teams, primarily swimming the breaststroke in medley relays. She also was the leadoff swimmer in the freestyle relay teams for William Smith.

An architectural studies major, Hark earned her third consecutive Academic All-District® team selection. She also was named a Liberty League All-Academic for the third time in her career earlier this season.

In the pool, Hark used her experience to lead a young Heron squad as she swam in several different events, primarily focusing on the butterfly. She combined for four top-five finishes this season, highlighted by fourth place finishes in the 50 and 100 butterfly events against Nazareth. Hark also played a crucial role in several relay teams for William Smith, racing the butterfly leg.

A studio art major, Seidberg also secured her third consecutive Academic All-District® team selection after being named a Liberty League All-Academic for the third time of her career.

In the pool, Seidberg used her versatility and experience to lead William Smith in her final season. She specialized in butterfly events but also added crucial performances in the freestyle and relay events for the Herons. Seidberg combined for 13 top five finishes this season, highlighted by first place finishes in the 50 fly at Nazareth and the 200 fly at Alfred. Most recently, Seidberg swam to a 15th place finish in the 200-yard fly and a 23rd place finish in the 100 fly at the Liberty League Championships.

William Smith swam to a 2-6 record in dual meets this season and finished seventh at the Liberty League Championships in February.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 28.
