The William Smith College lacrosse team will take on Roger Williams in an NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship first round game on Saturday, May 14, in Gettysburg, Pa., at 1 p.m. It is the Herons 18th NCAA appearance in program history and first since 2004.

Tickets for the game will be $5 for adults, $3 for students with valid ID, $2 for children ages 3-11, and children 2 and under are free. The winner from Saturday's game will advance to play No. 4 Gettysburg on Sunday, May 15 at 2:30 p.m.

William Smith, which is receiving votes in the latest IWLCA poll, is 11-7 this season, and riding a seven-game win streak. The Herons earned the Liberty League's automatic bid, topping Skidmore 7-6 in the tournament championship. William Smith ranks 17th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 6.56 goals per game.

Roger Williams brings a 15-3 record into the weekend. The Hawks won their first ever Commonwealth Coast Conference title with a 16-7 victory over Endicott to earn their spot in the tournament. Roger Williams is currently riding an 11-game win streak. The Hawks rank 10th in the nation in assists per game (8.06) and 13th in win percentage (.833). They are also 20th in points per game (21.33) and 23rd in scoring margin (6.06).
