Morrison and Gamboa led the Herons to a pair of Liberty League victories over the weekend, clinching the sixth and final spot in the conference championship tournament. William Smith defeated Vassar 84-64 on Friday night and ended the regular season on Saturday with a 78-47 win over Union.

In the team's biggest game of the season, Morrison produced a career-high 32 points, eight rebounds, an assist, a blocked shot and a steal against the Brewers to secure a spot in the playoffs for the second year in a row. Against the Dutchwomen, she notched a team-high 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. For the week, Morrison averaged 24.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 1.5 apg. She shot .613 from the floor and .714 at the free throw line.

A starter in all 25 games, Morrison is averaging a team-high 18.5 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.4 spg, 1.0 apg and 0.9 blocked shots per game. She's shooting .473 from the floor and .753 at the free throw line. Her season totals are among the best in William Smith history. Morrison ranks fifth in free throws made (113), seventh in points (462), eighth in field goals made (173), 10th in blocked shots (23) and is tied for 10th in rebounds (223).

In the Vassar game, Gamboa recorded 16 points, five rebounds and a game-high four assists. Fifteen of her 16 points came in the first half as the Herons took a 41-39 lead into halftime. On Saturday, she had 13 points, six rebounds and two assists. Gamboa connected on 5-of-6 shots from the floor against the Dutchwomen, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. For the week, she shot .625 from the floor, .750 from 3-point range and .750 at the line.

A starter in 10 of the 24 games she's appeared in, Gamboa is averaging 7.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.6 apg and 1.0 spg. She's shooting .357 from the floor, .295 from 3-point range and .697 at the line.

Sixth-seeded William Smith will travel to third-seeded Ithaca on Tuesday, Feb. 20 for the opening round of the Liberty League Tournament. Tipoff in Ben Light Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM.

The game will be the 44th meeting between the two teams with the Herons holding a slim 22-21 series lead. The Bombers won both meetings this season and have won each of the past three dating back to last season.
