Anna Leffler continued her strong showing at the 2018 Liberty League Championships. She broke her own 100-yard backstroke record twice today on her way to a third place finish. The Herons remain in sixth place overall entering the final day of the conference championship.

Less than 24 hours after leading off the 400 medley relay with a 59.21 in the 100 backstroke, Leffler was back in the pool competing as an individual in the backstroke event. In the morning prelims, she posted the third fastest time to qualify for the evening's championship final. Leffler stopped the clock with a time of 59.20, a hundredth of a second faster than the time she turned in the night before. This evening, Leffler upped the ante, dropping four-tenths of a second off her time, grabbing the bronze medal with a time of 58.80.

Emma Wilber and senior
Emily Haskins qualified for the consolation final in 100 backstroke. Wilber won the consolation final, ninth overall, stopping the clock with a lifetime best time of 1:00.40. Haskins was fifth, 13th overall, touching the wall at 1:02.08. First-year
Elizabeth Fajardo competed in this evening's "C" final. She touched the wall fourth in her heat, 20th overall, finishing with a time of 1:05.51.

Today's sessions opened with the 200 butterfly. Sophomore
Caroline Nash was the Herons' lone representative in the event. This morning, she posted the 11th fastest time of the prelims, qualifying for the consolation finals. Nash dropped eight seconds off her seed time, posting a lifetime best 2:19.41. This evening, she was fourth in the consolation finals, 12th overall, stopping the clock at 2:19.29.

Kate Moreau and
Ava Lillian advanced to this evening's final in the 100 breaststroke. Moreau was second in the "C" level final, 18th overall. She finished with a time of 1:12.65. Lillian was seventh, 23rd overall, with a time of 1:15.44.

The Herons closed out the day with the 800 freestyle relay. Lillian, first-year
Katie Neff, Fajardo, and Nash teamed up to turn in a time of 8:36.43. They were eighth overall. William Smith's "B" relay was 24th overall. Junior

Rensselaer continues to lead the championships with 1076 points. Ithaca is second with 952 points, while RIT rounds out the top three with 691 points. William Smith is sixth with 482 points, nine ahead of seventh place St. Lawrence.
