ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Sophomore
Max Tulchinsky led the Hobart College cross country team at the Yellowjacket Invitational this afternoon. He finished 57th out of 215 runners.
Running 8-kilometers for the first time this season, Tulchinsky traversed the course in 28:25.3. Junior
Josh Wasserman was the next Statesman across the finish line, logging a time of 29:21.3 to place 95th. First-years
Henry Gomez and
Nick Barbaccia and senior
Jake Hill were less than two minutes apart at the finish. Gomez finished in 36:34.1, Barbaccia 37:36.3 and Hill at 37:59.2.
Hobart was 15th out of 16 teams, beating Wells. Nationally ranked Geneseo won the team title by seven points over second place Ithaca. Rochester's Hunter Phinney was the individual winner with a time of 26:35.1, six seconds better than the runner-up.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Sept. 22, when they compete in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan.
