MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y.—Sophomore
Max Tulchinsky led the Hobart College cross country team at the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by Geneseo at Letchworth State Park this afternoon.
Running his third 8-kilometer race of the season, Tulchinsky posted a season's best time of 27:07.0 to place 41st out of 308 runners. It was a six second improvement over his time last Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan. Junior
Josh Wasserman was also in the top 100, stopping the clock at 28:02.4 and finishing 89th. He logged an 18-second improvement over his previous season's best time. Junior
William Fletcher posted an impressive two minute drop in his season's best time, crossing the line in 28:46.4 and placing 139th.
First-years
Shane Pursch and
Andrew Broering rounded out Hobart's top five. Pursch clocked in at 29:23.1 and Broering at 30:23.1. Broering's time was a 23-second improvement over his season's best.
As a team, Hobart was 17th out of 23 teams. The host Knights took the team title by 37 points over Laurentian University. The Voyageurs' Paul Sagriff was the individual winner with a time of 25:13.9, just over a second ahead of Geneseo's Sean McAneny.
Hobart's next race, the Cross Country Only Conference Championships, will be on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Seneca Lake State Park.
