HARTFORD, Conn.-The William Smith College squash team earned a spot in the Epps Cup championship match with a 7-2 victory over Haverford at Trinity this morning. The Herons are now 10-9 on the season.

With today's victory, William Smith, which is ranked No. 27 in the latest College Squash Association Team Rankings, will have the chance to defend its 2018 Epps Cup title tomorrow morning against No. 28 Connecticut College. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Trinity University. The Camels beat Colby College 6-3 in the other semifinal.

Against Haverford this morning, William Smith earned wins at Nos. 1-4 and 7-9. Junior
Gabby Fraser knocked off Kaitlin Reese 11-5, 11-3, 11-7 in the No. 1 spot. Fraser's fifth straight win brings her record to 9-2 on the season. She has played all 11 matches in the top spot. Senior
Madison Bradley defeated Isabelle Johnson 11-2,11-8,14-12 in the No. 2 spot and senior
Michaelann Denton topped Madeleine Hager 11-4, 11-13, 4-11, 14-12, 11-3 at No. 3. Bradley and Denton now lead the team with 11 wins this season. First-year
Molly Wachter collected her second straight win, besting Shreya Singh 12-10, 11-7, 11-4 in the No. 4 spot.

Gretchen Vietor won 3-1 at Nos. 7-9, respectively. Saiontz pulled out an 11-6, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6 victory in the seventh spot over Sophie Jackson. Saiontz is now 6-5 this season. Hytla recorded her fifth consecutive victory, knocking off Hannah Adler 11-7, 11-9, 8-11, 11-4 in the No. 8 spot. It was Hytla's 10th victory of the year. Vietor rallied to beat Eva Tamkin at No. 9, 6-11, 12-10, 11-8, 13-11.

Haverford, which is ranked No. 26 in the nation won at Nos. 5 and 6. The Fords will take on No. 25 Colby in tomorrow's third place match.

The Herons will look to win their sixth CSA Championship title tomorrow. William Smith won the Walker Cup in 2006, 2007 and the Epps Cup in 2009, 2013, and 2018.
