SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. —The Hobart College rowing team won the Liberty League Men's Rowing Championship for the 14th consecutive year. Hobart won gold medals in the varsity and second varsity eights on its way to capturing the conference championship.
The championship was decided by the winner of the varsity eight race.
The No. 19 second varsity eight of

Miles Cornman,
Alex Sickmueller,
Parker Cornman,
Steven Ives,
Anthony Carella,
David Pratt,
Aidan Spencer, and
Nate Jacon powered down the 2,000 meter course with a time of 6:45.36. Ithaca crossed the line three seconds behind them.
The No. 22 varsity eight of
Greg Narzikul,
Carter Weitekamp,
Moritz Marchart,
Jackson Baney,
Patrick Overton,
Martin Roeck,
Alberto Wray,
Andrew Krimmel,
Henry Vachon dominated the race crossing the line at 6:22.83. The Statesmen finished 14 seconds ahead of the Rochester Institute of Technology, who finished second.
"Everybody was fast off the line and there was a fantastic effort across all boats," said Captain
Carter Weitekamp. "We are honored to the Liberty League champions for the 14th time. Now our attention is focused on Navy, Columbia, and George Washington in a few days as we continue to pursue the top 15 crews in the country. It's great to be a Statesmen!"
Hobart will be back on the water Sunday, May 5, when it travels to West Windsor, N.J. to race Columbia, George Washington, and Navy. Racing will start at noon.
