6 Statesmen oarsmen earn Liberty League honors

Six members of the Hobart College rowing team earned a spot on the 2019 Liberty League All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for all-academic honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 through the end of the 2018 fall semester.

The following Statesmen earned all-academic recognition:

Junior Greg Narzikul, economics and computer science double major
Sophomore David Pratt, Russian language and culture major
Sophomore David Ranney, political science and history double major
Junior Martin Roeck, economics major
Junior Henry Vachon, geoscience major
Sophomore Bart Voto, biochemistry and environmental studies double major

Narzikul, Roeck, and Vachon are making their second straight appearances on the all-academic team.

Hobart captured its 14th consecutive Liberty League Championship and earned three gold medals at the National Invitational Rowing Championships. At the IRA championships, the Statesmen second varsity eight posted the team's top finish, placing fifth in the third level final (17th overall).
