The Hobart College football team, which is ranked 22nd in the coaches poll and 25th in the D3football.com poll, will host Montclair State University on Saturday, Sept. 28 on Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium. The opening kickoff for the Homecoming and Family Weekend game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
Admission to all Hobart football games is free to all fans. Those that can't watch the game in person can follow the action online with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will also be broadcast live by WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3).
 
The Statesmen improved to 3-0 with last week's 20-17 victory over Rowan. Junior Kyle Hackett drilled a 28-yard field goal as time expired to seal the victory for Hobart. The Statesmen scored the game's final 17 points, erasing a 17-3 deficit. Hackett was named the Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week. He was 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on point after attempts. Hackett also had two kickoffs go into the end zone for touchbacks. Senior quarterback Ryan Hofmann attempted a Statesmen record-tying 59 passes, completing 26 for 380 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Hobart's defense has allowed 16 points per game on 123.0 rushing yards per game and 234.33 passing yards per game. The Statesmen are sixth in the nation in interceptions (7), ninth in net punting (40.29), and 12th in turnovers gained (9.0).
 
Hobart is scoring 30.33 points per game, rushing for 82.7 yards per game and passing for 222.33 yards per game.
 
The Red Hawks head to Geneva with a 1-1 record and are coming off a bye week. Last time out, Montclair State defeated Salve Regina 28-11. The Red Hawks opened their season dropping a game at Southern Virginia. Montclair State has averaged 24.5 points per game on 114.0 rushing yards per game and 327.5 passing yards per game. The Red Hawks are eighth in the nation in passing yards per completion (17.7). Montclair State yields 22.5 points per game on 88.5 rushing yards per game and 160.0 passing yards per game.
 
Saturday's game will be the first meeting between Hobart and Montclair St.
