For the third straight week, the William Smith College lacrosse team was ranked 19th in the IWLCA poll. The Herons will be back in action on Wednesday, April 28, when they welcome Union to Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium for a Liberty League semifinal. Opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.

William Smith wrapped up the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the Liberty League. The Herons locked up the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament with four straight wins to close out conference play.

Mekayla Montgomery's 46 draw controls, 25 caused turnovers and 37 ground balls. Sophomore

Maddie Bamberger has played a majority of the minutes in goal. She is 6-2 with an 8.13 goals against average and a .430 save percentage.

William Smith leads the Liberty League in scoring defense (9.40 gpg), caused turnovers per game (11.00), and ground balls per game (2.40). Individually
Mekayla Montgomery leads the Liberty League and is 37th in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.50) and leads the conference in ground balls per game (3.70).

The Dutchwomen are 4-4 overall this season with a 3-3 record in the Liberty League. Union clinched a spot in the conference tournament with a 19-13 win over Clarkson in the regular season finale. Lindsay Gerrato leads the Dutchwomen with 36 points on 25 goals and 11 assists. Sydney McPartion has a team best 27 goals this year. Gerrato also leads the team with 67 draw controls. Elizabeth Hernberg has brought in a team best 23 ground balls while Kat Heaney has nine caused turnovers. Jenna Paszek has played a majority of the minutes in goal. She is 3-4 with a 15.63 GAA and a .360 save percentage.

Union is fourth in the nation in draw controls per game (18.50), 23rd in shots on goal per game (27.62) and 34th in scoring offense (16.25 gpg). Gerrato is 10th in the nation, averaging 8.38 draw controls per game.

Wednesday's game will be the 32nd meeting between William Smith and Union. The Herons hold a 21-10 edge in the series including an 11-2 advantage in Geneva. William Smith has won the past four meetings in the series.
