Hobart College Senior Nick Sessions traveled to New Orleans this past weekend to represent the Statesmen in the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Singlehanded National Championships. Sessions finished the weekend in eighth.

Sessions compiled 113 points on the weekend. The regatta featured fourteen races. Challenging conditions met the sailors on Saturday. The day started off steady with 6-9 knot breeze out of the Northeast. Eight races were contested on the first day of the regatta in challenging conditions. On Sunday six races were contested in 6-11 knot winds.

Sessions, who earned an automatic bid into the regatta after winning the MAISA Singlehanded Championship, crossed the line in the top 10 in 10 of the 14 races. He won the eighth race and was second in the seventh race.

Coast Guard's Nicholas Reeser won the Glen S. Foster Trophy, finishing the weekend with 80 points. Tulane's Hamilton Barclay and Thad Lettsome rounded out the podium.
