The Hobart soccer team jumped up six spots to No. 11 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll. This is the fifth straight week that the Statesmen have been ranked. This is Hobart's highest ranking since being ranked 10th in the final regular season poll of 2015.

In addition, Hobart is ranked 11th in the NCAA Power Index rankings for the second straight week. NPI is the formula used for selecting at-large bids into the NCAA tournament. The Statesmen are also ranked first in the Region III regional rankings.

Sophomore Brady Leitner scored the game-tying goal in the 73rd minute. Leitner and senior Brian Sheehan were named to the Liberty League weekly honor roll for their efforts against the Brewers. With the tie, Hobart is now 5-0-2 in Liberty League play, sitting in first place with 17 points. The Statesmen have secured themselves a spot in the Liberty League tournament.

Hobart enters the week 10th in the nation in winning percentage (.885), 18th in GAA (0.62) and 28th in corner kicks per game (6.69). Leitner is 12th in the nation in game-winning goals (4) and is 14th in shot accuracy (.655).

Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when it heads to the Capital District to take on Union. The Liberty League contest is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in Schenectady, New York. The Garnet Chargers are 5-5-4 overall. They are 2-1-3 in Liberty League play and sit in fifth in the league standings. Union will play at Bard on Wednesday.
