Three Hobart Statesmen were named to the D3football.com All-Region teams which were announced today. Senior punter Vicente Lyon was elected to the first team, while junior running back E.J. Taylor and sophomore defensive tackle Billy Brosko garnered second team honors.

The 2025 Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Year, Lyon is making his second straight appearance on the all-region first team. He led the league in punting, averaging 42.9 yards per punt, and landed a career-high 13 punts inside the opponent's 20. Lyon's average would be tied for seventh in the nation if he had enough punts to qualify for ranking (he punted 31 times, five shy of the minimum). He also led the league in punts of 50-plus yards, including a league-best 63 yarder at Brockport. Lyon was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after averaging 50.0 yards per punt in Hobart's win over St. Lawrence.

In 30 career games, Lyon averaged a Hobart record 41.3 yards per punt. He was named a 2024 All-American by the Associated Press (1st team) and D3football.com (3rd team) after averaging a Hobart season record 43.6 yards per punt. Lyon launched a Hobart-record 86-yard punt against Ithaca in 2024.

Taylor is making his second appearance on the all-region teams as well after earning a first team nod last year. A 1,000-yard rusher for the second year in a row, Taylor ran for a league-leading 1,345 yards (5th on Hobart's single season list) and 18 touchdowns (tied for 4th). He also caught 19 passes for 172 yards and a TD. In 11 games this season, Taylor ran for more than 100 yards nine times. He rushed for a season-high 196 yards and a touchdown in Hobart's overtime win at Rochester. The MVP of the ECAC James Lynah Bowl rushed for 172 yards and two TDs in the 42-14 win over Merchant Marine.

In 33 career games, Taylor has rushed for 2,883 yards (7th on Hobart's all-time list) and 33 touchdowns (8th). He's also caught 37 passes for 306 yards and four TDs. Taylor was the 2024 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year.

Brosko finished third on the team and 18th in the conference in tackles with 63. He made at least three tackles in every game, including a season-high nine at Hilbert. Bosko notched seven tackles in a game three times. Against St. Lawrence, he posted seven stops, including a season-high 3.5 for loss and a sack.

Bosko's collegiate career got off to a great start in 2024, recording 12 tackles and earning two Liberty League Rookie of the Week awards, before suffering a season-ending injury in the Game 3.

Beset by injuries this season, Hobart rallied from a 1-5 start to finish the regular season with four straight wins to become bowl eligible. The Statesmen received the program's sixth bowl invitation and earned their fourth bowl championship, finishing the season with a 6-5 record.
