The William Smith Alpine skiing team was back in action this weekend, Feb. 8-9, for Week 4 of USCSA competition. The Herons finished fifth out of 13 teams in Saturday's giant slalom and second of 13 teams in Sunday's slalom race.

The giant slalom results featured first-year
Lily Winch finishing in sixth place with a combined time of 2:19.54. The Herons' other top 20 finish came from sophomore
Emily Cain who was 16th with a combined time of 2:29.82.

Sunday's slalom saw two Herons earn top 10 finishes. Junior
Katherine Broderick took fifth with a time of 58.97, while Winch came in seventh with a time of 59.29.

The Herons are second with 20 points, trailing only Colgate (8) in the USCSA standings. Hamilton rounds out the top three with 25 points.

The Herons are back in action next weekend, Feb. 15-16, for the final weekend of USCSA action. The team heads to Truxton, New York, to compete on Labrador Mountain. Saturday's giant slalom race begins at 9 a.m., and will be followed by Sunday's slalom race at 9 a.m.
