ITHACA, N.Y. – The Hobart and William Smith swimming and diving teams competed in the fourth and final day of the Liberty League Championships on Saturday in Ithaca's Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium. The Herons finished the four-day meet in ninth place with 352 points, while the Statesmen secured eighth place with 217 points.
For the Statesmen, first-year Payton Owens competed in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing 23rd with a time of 19:43.23.
On the Herons' side, four swimmers competed in the 1650 free. Sophomore Mackenzie Morus led the group, placing 20th with a time of 18:53.66. First-year Aurora Donta-Venman followed in 21st place (19:34.13), while classmate Sadie Levy finished 22nd (19:48.70). Graduate student Clare Burke placed 24th with a time of 20:05.05.
In the 200 back, first-year Boglarka Olah finished 23rd with a time of 2:21.03 in the C final, improving from her prelim time of 2:22.17. Senior Tori Smith placed 24th, clocking in at 2:22.37.
First-year Kaleigh Boynton competed in the 200 breaststroke, finishing 18th overall with a C final time of 2:35.67.
In the 400 freestyle relay, the team of junior Maggie Woodruff, Donta-Venman, junior Hali Seidberg, and first-year Jenna Flihan placed 24th in the C final, improving their time to 4:00.53.
