INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Senior diver
Daniel Barrientos concluded his season this afternoon as he represented the Hobart swimming and diving team as the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships.
This afternoon, Barrientos dove to a 20th place finish from the 1-meter board, narrowly missing a spot in the consolation finals. He earned an 11-dive score of 397.65 to secure 20th in the 24-diver field.
The Fulshear, Texas native, Barrientos capped off a successful final season for Hobart that saw him break several records. Most recently, Barrientos was named a First-Team All-American after securing seventh place from the 3-meter board at the national championships. His seventh-place finish was the best finish at the national championships since Peter Taylor '92 finished sixth on the 3-meter board in 1990.
COACHES CORNER:
"There's a lot to be proud of in the way Daniel finished on the 1-meter and to have such a successful end to his diving career," said Diving Coach
Eliana Wallock. "With that kind of performance from today and on the 3-meter Wednesday, it is a testament to all the work he's put in. Daniel should be proud of what he accomplished, because I know I am."
