Earlier this week, senior Linden Utz of the Hobart swimming and diving team was named to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Team selected by the College Sports Communicators.
CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least one full calendar year at their current institution, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and participate in at least five competitions or finish top eight at a conference championship meet.
An anthropology and sociology major, Utz earned a spot on the Academic All-District® team for the first time in his career after securing his second consecutive Liberty League All-Academic selection.
In the pool, Utz is a versatile swimmer, utilizing his talents in several different events, including backstroke and breaststroke. He collected 12 top five finishes in his senior season. Utz was second in the 50-yard backstroke in the Statesmen's season opener at Nazareth and followed that up with a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke against Herkimer Community College. Most recently, he finished fourth in the 200 back against Liberty League foe, RIT, in a dual match in Bristol Pool.
Utz and the Statesmen finished ninth at the Liberty League Championships in February.
