Senior Daniel Barrientos of the Hobart swimming and diving team was named the Liberty League Diver of the Week after an impressive performance at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships last week.

Barrientos earned his second diver of the week honor of the season after securing first team All-America status on the 3-meter board at the national championships. In the preliminary round, he earned an 11-dive score of 498.95, securing fifth place and a spot in the Championship Final for the first time in his career. Barrientos then went on to earn a six-dive score of 489.20 to finish seventh in the 24-diver field. His seventh-place finish was the best by a Statesman at the national championships since Peter Taylor '92 was sixth on the 3-meter board in 1990.

The Fulshear, Texas, native, also competed on the 1-meter board at the national championships, finishing 20th with an 11-dive score of 397.65. His second-straight national championship appearance capped a successful collegiate career that saw Barrientos be named a two-time all-American, a two-time national qualifier, a Liberty League Champion, a four-time regional qualifier and an 11-time Liberty League Diver of the Week selection.
