Herons take on Saints at Sunset Bowl Sunday

The William Smith bowling team will host D'Youville for a home match this Sunday, March 2, at Sunset Bowl. It will be the first time the Herons have been home since they hosted the AMCC Round Robin Nov. 16-17. William Smith will also compete at the Redhawks ROC City Classic Saturday, March 1, before its home dual match the following day. 

William Smith is coming off a 3-6 weekend at the 2025 Niagara Brunswick Spring Classic. The Herons currently sit at 30-31 this season with a 5-2 record when competing at home. 

ABOUT THE HERONS:

  • William Smith sits second in the AMCC conference standings in the Baker format standings. They are third in the league for traditional format matches. 

  • The Herons lead the league in Team Split Leave Percentage (8.34%). 

  • Senior Michaela Morgan is second in the conference in individual scoring average, with an average per frame of 18.677. She also leads the league in individual strike percentage (43.4%) and individual first ball "9+" percentage (68.0%). 

  • Sophomore Coleen Jump leads the AMCC in individual split leave percentage at 6.7%. 

  • In the AMCC player composite performance index, Morgan is ranked fourth and Jump is 10th. 

  • First-year Brooke Gervais and junior Caitlyn Anschutz are also ranked at 11th and 12th place in the player composite performance index, respectively. 

SERIES HISTORY:

  • William Smith has matched up against D'Youville nine times over the past three seasons. The Herons hold an 8-1 advantage in the series. 

  • D'Youville beat the Herons for the first time during last weekend's Niagara Brunswick Spring Classic, with a final score of 889-869. 

  • In traditional matches, the Herons hold a 4-1 advantage. 

  • William Smith has won all four Baker-style matchups against the Saints.
