GENEVA, N.Y. – The Hobart swimming and diving team celebrated its 2026 senior class as it took on 25th-ranked RIT this afternoon in a dual meet in Bristol Pool. Despite several strong performances, the Statesmen fell 217-33 to the nationally ranked Tigers.
Senior diver
Daniel Barrientos led Hobart with second place finishes from both the 1- and 3-meter boards this afternoon. Barrientos punched his ticket to the 2026 NCAA Diving Regionals after securing a score of 360.80 from the 3-meter board. He then added a second-place finish from the 1-meter board with a score of 308.30 to secure crucial points for the Statesmen.
Sophomore
Payton Owens also impressed this afternoon for Hobart after securing fourth place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.10), the 500-yard freestyle (5:34.33) and the 100-yard freestyle (56.91).
First-year
Sebastian Iancu swam to a third-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke after touching the wall at 2:50.32. Sophomore
Gerard Humiston added fourth place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.84) and the 100-yard Individual Medley (1:03.19), while first-year
Joseph Thompson followed in fifth in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:15.89.
Senior
Randall Dominguez added a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle after stopping the clock at 25.46, while classmate
Linden Utz chipped in a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:40.43.
Humiston and Dominguez joined William Smith teammates Sofia Ciereck and Kaleigh Boynton in the mixed 200-yard medley relay and finished third with a time of 1:56. 25
